Bari Jay is always looking for Brides to talk about their bridesmaid choices! Alvie and Ton had a gorgeous wedding and we wanted to talk with Alvie about her choices!
How did you decide on the color of your bridesmaid’s dresses? Rose is one of our most popular colors! 🙂
“My wedding was in the fall, October 21, 2017, so I knew I wanted to incorporate some fall colors in my color scheme/wedding colors. My wedding colors were Marsala, Blush, Mauve, Gold and Ivory. I had been seeing a lot of instagram and pinterest posts of bridesmaid dresses in the marsala color for fall, so I wanted to do something different and went with the mauve route. At the bridal shop, we pulled many different dresses that would fall under the "mauve" category, but ultimately went with Bari Jay’s Rose color because it was more on the unique color side. In natural lighting/outside lighting, the dress can come off as pink, but in our reception area and in the church, the dress came off as the perfect mauve color! So funny that now it has become one of your most popular colors, I love it!”
How did you set the parameters for your bridesmaid’s style of dresses?
“Setting parameters for my bridesmaid style dresses was easy – there were none.. or well, just 2 things. All that I asked was that they pick their dress in the same color and it be a long dress. My bridesmaids are all different and have their own style. So, I left it up to them to pick their own style of dress rather than having everyone matching completely (there were only 2 of my bridesmaids who picked the same dress and they were sisters, no surprise there!) I wanted my bridesmaids to feel beautiful and comfortable in whatever they would wear. Also, since they paid for their dress, I wanted them to be able to actually love what they pay for, not waste their money and hopefully wear the dress again and not just be a one time thing. As stated above, the girls were all given many different designers and different color dresses under the mauve category to pick from. The deal breaker for them was actually that some of your dresses that they bought had pockets! They said they could store their lipstick and tissues there and was such a convenient feature 🙂 Plus, who doesn’t love a dress with pockets… I don’t blame them!”
Where did your bridesmaids purchase their dresses?
“My bridesmaids purchased their dresses from House of Maya. Unfortunately, House of Maya closed down a couple months after we had ordered our dresses. I am very thankful that Bari Jay shipped out my bridesmaid dresses before the quoted timeframe, as many other brides/bridesmaids did not end up receiving their orders and had to go to another shop and re-order different things or ask for refund.”

Many on-line companies have not been around over 50 years like Bari Jay, a good thing to keep in mind if you want a stress free wedding!
