Brides want ease while having all the special moments leading up to their big day! They want to make the process a special experience, but they want ease for their friends!! Ease and an experience! Feeling special and making your friends feel special as they were chosen to be part of the most meaningful day in their life thus far! The bride starts looking at Pinterest and thus imagines what her day will look like! But in truth the most beautiful pictures as seen on Pinterest did not just happen! Thoughtful planning and a lot of work goes into the preparation of your big day.
At Bari Jay last month, we received a call that Sammi Sweetheart was getting married and the store thought our new luxe stretch dresses were the perfect fabric and look for her bridesmaids. This store, Bella Bridesmaids Freehold, is a great store. Sammi showed them her vision and they knew exactly where to go to help with that! Bella Freehold give their brides and their maids all their expertise and advice that makes for those Pinterest worthy photos. Sammi went with our new Luxe Stretch, which is comfortable, sexy and looked great on all her friends. She had a great day and gave her friends her undivided attention, making them feel special and a big part of her process! This is what got us thinking!
What we saw and learned from this was the experience of being in the store and trying on the dress or dresses with the bride, made her friends feel appreciated. Some Champagne and cute Robes! Maybe some treats in the store if it is allowed or a cute brunch after. It doesn’t need to be fancy; it is a small investment on the part of the bride and that time is so appreciated by your bridesmaids…
What to do when planning a fun day for your girls…. remember every other aspect of the wedding is about you so taking the time to spotlight your love and appreciation for your besties will go a long way!
First, locate bridal salons near you, start with the one where you purchased your bridal gown! They are invested in your big day already! Have some dress styles and colors in mind, maybe even fabric. When you call the store see if they take appointments and/or if they can accommodate your crew. Find out if they will allow a little bubbly and some treats! If not, don’t worry you can make a little day or night out of it. Try the dresses on and then do a brunch or some dinner and drinks!!
Next, gather your girls together by text or email and settle on a date that works for everyone. If you have friends that live elsewhere you can facetime and have them visit a locate store with the same brand. If you live elsewhere, it is probably best to make the trip and hang with your friends when doing this. There is nothing more impersonal than choosing a dress and having your friends do it alone or worse have them get it in a little tiny plastic bag shoved into a UPS envelope! That is much more of a chore and much less of an honor.
Once you have the date scheduled get ready!! Maybe get the girls a small gift or a robe! Plan for champagne at the store or the brunch after.
When you arrive at your appointment, start working with the consultant at the store. They know best what works on body types and can lead you to what you want and make all your friends happy. Be prepared as what you think you want going in may very well change while you are there depending on what looks good on your friends.
